In this light, we've developed a variety of examples that demonstrate that it doesn't have to be difficult to create custom web graphics. Those examples are scattered throughout the site. The idea at work here is a belief that almost every visitor can benefit by seeing behind the scenes - not just those who came for "tips". Hopefully others will be encouraged when they see how ordinary folk like us create attractive web graphics.

While others valiantly expended blood, sweat, and tears developing attractive custom graphics, we were having fun. They lived in a world where it was predicted that eventually only professionals would have the skills necessary to develop websites. This pleased them because they invested lots of time and money in developing their skills. Using our "secret weapons" we found it possible to also create attractive graphics - but we didn't invest much time or money. Perhaps more importantly, we found the good software allowed us to focus on the creative vision itself rather than on how it might be realized.

By sharing our secrets, we hope to help others experience the fun of creating a website. Perhaps we can help reverse the trend of the web being seen as just another marketing tool for Fortune 500 companies. We believe the real future of the web content should be in the hands of millions of individuals willing to share their knowledge with others. There's enough web space for everyone!
